Greetings to you and yours in Christ Jesus name, amen. It’s been a great success in our mission in the 2023 first quarter, though full of challenges following our Government policies and programs, General Elections, Insecurity, Money scarcity in the bank which resulted in paying double on every purchase etc. In all of these hectic moment, our team of Evangelists (Ukanafun WBS Evangelism Team) work assiduously in the hinterland mostly in the areas we planted new churches and God blesses our efforts. JANUARY 2023:
* January 3, A Bible Seminar/ Evangelism on the theme ” VERIFICATION” at Church of Christ, Ikot Osute, Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
EFFECT: RESTORATION – Five (5)Souls was Restored from their erring way.
* January 7, Christian Couple’s Retreat at Church of Christ, Ikot Esa Road, Ukanafun (A gathering of the couple’s to strengthen the church for effective leadership) Some non Christian couple also attend.
EFFECT: BAPTISM – One (1) Soul (Gift Thompson) whose husband alone was a Christian baptized into Christ.
* January 8, Some of our WBSET join the Preacher at Church of Christ, Ata Essien Obio Akpa village on a follow up mission.
EFFECT: BAPTISM – One Soul obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ.
* January 10, A follow up mission with the Preacher at Church of Christ, Ikot Ibritam village.
EFFECT: BAPTISM – One Sou (Ini Akpan)l obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ.
*January 12 – 14, Bible Seminar/ Evangelism at Church of Christ at Ikot Odiong village Ukanafun LGA on the theme ” PLANNING THE GROWTH OF THE CHURCH”. The three days event features Evangelism campaigns from door to door, preaching in Market place, indoor Bible Lecture and Free Medical services etc.
EFFECT: BAPTISM/ RESTORATION – Seven (7) Souls obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ while Two (2) erring was restored back to the faith.
* January 15, At Church of Christ, Ikot Odiong village, I Preached the Sunday sermon on “Qualities of a Christian”.
EFFECT: BAPTISM/RESTORATION – One (1) Soul (Nam Sunday) obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ while Friday Akpan was restored from his erring ways after 7 years of backsliding.
* January 19, I Preached a funeral sermon of a late Brother at Church of Christ, Ikot Akpan Afaha village from Jeremiah 10:23, many denominational church leaders and Community people ask questions about the church and promised to visit the church meeting..
* January 20, I was also an officiating minister at the funeral service of a Preacher’s late mother at Church of Christ, Ikot Ukpong Eren village.
* January 21, I participated at the Preacher’s Seminar at Etim Ekpo LGA. It was great to discuss and shared Strategy for church growth in our local congregations of the Lord’s church.
* January 22, I Preached the sermon on Sunday worship at Church of Christ, Ikot Odiong from Acts 17:30-31.
EFFECT: BAPTISM – One (1) Soul obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ.
* January 27, I met with Chad Wagner and his Missionary team at the Nigerian Christian Bible College (NCBC) Ukpom Abak, It was a great opportunity to share more thought together on the furtherance of Christ kingdom in Nigeria.
* January 28, Was Bible Seminar/ Evangelism at Church of Christ, Ikot Akpa Idem my home and place of birth on the Theme ” THE MASTERS BUSINESS “, one of Chad Wagner’s mission partner Steve Hilton and Dr Monday John Akpakpan serve as our guest speakers.
* Same January 28, some of our teammates went on a Macedonia call at Okoyo village.
EFFECT: BAPTISM – Two (2) Souls obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ
FEBRUARY 2023;
* February 3, Bible Seminar/Evangelism at Church of Christ, Ekpenyong Atai 1 group of villages on the theme “FREEDOM IN CHRIST”, we hired Buses to convey the Ukanafun WBS Evangelism Team who led the Evangelism campaigns, we also offered benevolence on Free Eye Test/Glasses.
EFFECT: BAPTISM – Three (3) Souls obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ while many denominational church leaders requested for another visit.
* February 4, Bible Seminar/Evangelism at Church of Christ, Ikot Akpan Eyo village on the theme “EFFECTIVE CHURCH DISCIPLINE”, The WBSET led the door to door Evangelism campaigns and indoor Bible Lecture. We went on a hired Bus preaching in the hinterland.
EFFECT: BAPTISM / RESTORATION – Three (3) Souls obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ while Two Souls was restored back to Christ from their erring way.
* February 5, A follow up mission was carried out by our teammates at Church of Christ, Ikot Ibritam and Ikon,
EFFECT: BAPTISM – Four (4) Souls obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ.
* February 8 to 11, A 4 Day Bible Seminar/Evangelism which features door to door Evangelism campaigns as well as indoor Bible Lecture and open air preaching at market places.
EFFECT: BAPTISM – Four (4) Souls obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ. A denominational church pastor we preached to is now studying with us but not yet baptized.
* February 17, I was the officiating minister at the funeral service of a late sister at Church of Christ, Okoyo village and many Community people who are not members of the church ask questions boardering on the New Testament church practice after the sermon.
* February 19, I was a guest Preacher at Church of Christ at Atai Otoro Abak Local Government Area during her indoor Bible Lecture. I attended the meeting with my wife and children and preached the sermon from 2 Cor 13:5.
EFFECT: BAPTISM – One (1) Soul ( Peace Ezekiel) who was a member of the Jehovah Witness Denomination obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ
MARCH 2023:
* March 12, I preached the sermon on the topic ” WHAT CHRIST EXPECT FROM YOU” at Church of Christ, Ikot Odiong indoor Bible Lecture. Friends and Community people were invited.
EFFECT: BAPTISM /RESTORATION – One Soul (Eti Sandy) obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ while Anietie Effiong a backsliding Brother was Restored back to the faith.
* March 19, I was a guest Preacher at Abak Town Central Church of Christ indoor Bible Lecture on the topic ” ARE YOU FIT TO STAND BEFORE CHRIST?”
* March 27 & 28, I led a follow up mission along with our Ukanafun WBS Evangelism Team at Ikot Akpa Nkuk Ukanafun and Ikot Akpan Essien village.
EFFECT: BAPTISM – One (1) Soul obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ.
SUMMARY:
During the period of this report,
* a total of Ten (10) Bible Seminars/ Evangelism was carried out in different places of our churches area by me and our Ukanafun WBS Evangelism Team.
*I preached 3 funeral sermon and
* We carried out 7 follow up mission.
* Thirty one (31) Souls baptized into Christ at different areas of our Gospel campaigns while Eleven (11) erring members was restored back to Christ.
* Each of the newly baptized and some we preached to receive a copy of Bible each as they have the need also with Hymnals to help their new found faith and to them learn about Christ and His Church.
* Free Eye Test/Glasses and other medical check-up and drug
administration goes along with our Bible Seminars/Evangelism and many who came for medical check and benefitted from our benevolence acts food for the needy, hears the Gospel and some became baptized into Christ.
* The saved was edified.
* We took some rest to recuperate.
