June 10, 2020 was great in my ministry despite challenges associated with the COVID 19 pandemic ravaging Nations of the world.
The newly baptized Mr John Solomon was my school mate between 2003-2004 at African College of MANAGEMENT (ACM), Obong Ntak now Obong University, there I was the student leader and John Solomon was of the Jesus The Way Evangelical Church denomination a fellow students in the college.
In 2004 I graduated from ACM with a diploma in Business Management and John left in 2005, but the Gospel I preached to John and others at ACM did not depart from John.
Early May 2020, John sent me a message through Facebook messenger asking for clarification on the following :
1. The role of women in Church of Christ .
2. Why choir and special solo is not created and use in the church of Christ worship.
3. Why instrumental music is not used for worship in the church of Christ
4. Why Re-baptize after Baptism in the denominational church when one comes into the church and more.
After a telephone conversation with John, I prepared lessons on the following subject, one of the lessons on baptism was brother Mike Udam’s work. I send to him via Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp telephone conversation.
When the government of Akwa Ibom State relaxed the covid 19 lock down temporary, I visited with John Solomon at Abak were he is working to explain more on the lessons sent to answer his questions.
Five (5) days after our reunion meeting since 2005, John Solomon called me on telephone that he is ready to obey the Gospel and he was baptized into Christ on June 10, 2020 after confessing Christ as Lord and Saviour. My wife Ekaette, daughter “Emem” son “Ekemini” and a brother in Christ witness John’s baptism.
John went back home rejoicing. He requested for our Hymn Book.
John received a Bible and Hymnal to help his new faith in Christ.
It’s been a very happy moment for me that our relationship / Lifestyle preach more than words and God is faithful adding more Souls to Christ kingdom.
Pray for John and his two year old marriage which I am visiting the wife to explain more about the church as she argued about her calling as a choir mistress in her denominational church.
Thank you for your prayers and kind thought.
In Christian Love and Service,
Mojima Etokudo
